Hencher Corrected

We recently trawled through 50 odd direct shear tests from the last two decades and ran corrections to determine a reasonable friction angle and cohesion for rock-rock defects. This provided significant insight into the variability in testing methods across the industry; an issue we propose to research further as the direct shear test is heavily relied upon. We are publishing a paper at the upcoming NZSOLD + ANCOLD Conference in Christchurch discussing these topics.
