Return of the Field Book

In our previous iteration, we always carried a field notebook in our top pocket, to provide a safe home for observations, notes, sketches, and data opportunistically acquired in the field. Since ramping up, we have looked to local suppliers to revive our notebooks, going back to basics with an offset and digitally printed notebook, a smidge under B7 size, in our bright blue so as not to be lost in the grass.

The vinyl cover was a challenge. Previously available off-the-shelf, the original supplier discontinued production, and we were left without a protective shell for our books. Looking offshore, we identified one supplier in the United States, but a misspelled search (thanks to autocorrect) popped up a solution fifteen minutes from our base. So the book is back. Printed and covered, and all with local Brisbane suppliers.
